I picked up Beauty of Joseon’s Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen at Olive Young because I loved the idea of a light base product that could do a little more than SPF alone. It gives sheer coverage and a healthy sheen, but the shade selection is the first thing I would flag.
The shade-range reality
The range at Olive Young felt very slim. I chose the darkest shade I could find, and it was still a little light for my skin. The coverage is light enough that it does not look dramatically off once blended, but I needed contour and blush to bring warmth and dimension back into the face.
That makes this feel more like a flexible, tinted 자외선 차단제 (jawoeseon chadanje), or sunscreen, than a complexion product meant to match precisely. If you like a very sheer base, it may be workable; if your skin tone sits beyond the available range, test it in person first.
What the formula is designed to do
Beauty of Joseon describes this as a 50 mL, lightweight mineral tinted sunscreen with sheer coverage. The listed UV filter is 20.90% zinc oxide, while mineral pigments (iron oxides) create the tint. The formula also includes silica for a less shiny feel, olive-derived lipids, and Artemisia capillaris extract.
The brand lists 12 flexible shades online, although the selection I found at Olive Young was much smaller in practice. My tube states SPF50+ PA++++; Beauty of Joseon’s regional product pages currently show different SPF ratings, so check the packaging and the official listing for your market when you buy.
Texture and finish
The formula is genuinely light and fluid. It spreads easily and gives a little evening-out effect — the kind of subtle 톤업 (tone up), or complexion brightening, that lets skin still look like skin rather than covering everything up.
It does leave a slightly greasy finish on me, especially at first. That is easy to adjust: I go over it with loose or pressed powder wherever I want a more matte, 보송보송 (bosongbosong), soft and non-shiny, finish. With that extra step, it sits much more comfortably for my preferred makeup look.
For warmer days
For me, it is a real plus in hotter weather. It has the lightweight wear I want in summer, while the formula still has enough 밀착력 (milchakryeok), meaning how well it adheres to the skin, to feel dependable through the day. It wore well for me in warm conditions, although I could not find a verified official water-resistance claim, so I would still reapply sunscreen as needed.
Because it is a mineral formula — 무기자차 (mugi jacha), Korean skincare shorthand for mineral sunscreen — I make sure to shake it well and apply an even amount as the final step of my routine. Beauty of Joseon also recommends shaking before use, then blending with fingers, a brush, or a sponge.
Verdict
I like this as a light, summer-friendly SPF base, not as a replacement for foundation. The fluid texture is comfortable, the tint is easy to make work with a little contour and blush, and powder solves the greasier finish for me. My biggest hesitation is still the limited shade range: even the deepest option I found at Olive Young was lighter than I wanted.
If your shade is available, this is a good pick for minimal-makeup days. If not, the formula may be lovely, but the match may take more work than it should.
