The Beauty of Joseon Pore Firming Red Bean PDRN™ Serum is a lightweight daily serum I picked up at Olive Young. It has become a staple in my routine because it is easy to use, gentle on my sensitive skin, and leaves a smooth finish without weighing everything down.
What “pore firming” actually means
The name focuses on 모공 (mogong), pores, and 탄력 (tallyeok), elasticity or firmness. The formula combines 붉은팥 (bulgeunpat), red bean, PDRN™ with peptide ingredients, aiming to make pores look smoother and more refined over time.
I have not seen noticeable pore-firming results yet, so this is one I am continuing to use rather than calling an instant-results product.
Texture and everyday wear
The texture is very watery and spreads effortlessly across the skin. It absorbs quickly, leaving a smooth, comfortable finish with no residue, stickiness, or greasiness. It layers easily with the rest of my routine, so I can use it morning or night without having to rethink my other products.
That fast sink-in feel is what Korean skincare often calls 흡수 (heupsu), or absorption. Here, it means the serum feels like part of the skin rather than a layer sitting on top.
Gentle on sensitive skin
This serum is scent-free, which I really appreciate. More importantly, it has been gentle on my sensitive skin: no irritation, heaviness, or uncomfortable film after application. Its uncomplicated feel is exactly why it has stayed in my routine.
The packaging also identifies it as a 기능성 화장품 (gineungseong hwajangpum), or functional cosmetic. In Korea, that label is used for products carrying regulated functional claims.
The pore-firming results
Pore results tend to take time, and I have not noticed a visible firming effect yet. Still, the texture and skin feel make it worth continuing with. It is the kind of serum I enjoy reaching for daily because it is lightweight, comfortable, and does not interfere with the rest of my skincare.
Verdict
A watery, fragrance-free serum with a smooth, non-greasy finish that works especially well for sensitive skin. The pore-firming claim is still a work in progress for me, but the easy texture and gentle formula have already earned it a permanent place in my routine.
