If you’ve seen a stack of gold-lidded cans wearing Snorlax and Charmander faces floating around your feed, that’s not fan art — it’s an actual grocery product. CJ CheilJedang, the company behind Korea’s SPAM, just launched an official Pokémon collab for 추석 (chuseok), and it’s turned one of Korea’s most traditional gifts into something people are now scalping on eBay.
Why Spam, and why this is a big deal
If you’re not used to Korean gift culture, a can of meat as a holiday present sounds like a punchline. It isn’t. 스팸 (seupaem) has been a genuinely prestigious 추석 and Seollal gift in Korea for decades — boxed 선물세트 (seonmul seteu) of Spam tins are a standard thing to hand a coworker, landlord, or elderly relative. CJ CheilJedang leaned into that this year by pairing it with Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, out of 260 different Chuseok gift-set varieties the company released for 2026 — its largest lineup yet.
What’s actually in the box
The collab is three “SPAM Towers,” each themed around one Pokémon: Charmander, Ditto, and Snorlax. Every tower stacks five 200g cans of Spam Classic wrapped in character packaging, plus a sheet of Pokémon stickers — 15 cans total if you get all three.

Buy all three towers and you also get one of two limited-edition plush 굿즈 (gudeu) keychains — either Snorlax or Ditto holding a Spam can and a bowl of rice — handed out at random, so completionists are buying multiples just to chase the keychain they want.

Pricing and where to find it
- One tower: ₩19,900 (~$15)
- All three towers: ₩59,700 (~$45)
- Launch: September 9, 2026 via KakaoTalk Gift
- Wider retail: September 11 at CJ The Market, with E-Mart stock expected to follow
CJ CheilJedang’s Chuseok announcement also confirmed the sets would sell through E-Mart, The Market, and Kakao — so if one channel is sold out, it’s worth checking the others before assuming it’s gone for good.
It’s already being scalped
Between the character range and genuinely capped stock, this sold out fast enough that resellers moved in almost immediately — full three-tower sets that retail for ~$45 have been spotted on eBay for around $88, nearly double. If you’re shopping from outside Korea, that’s the 리셀 (risel) markup you’re paying for convenience — buyers in Korea who can grab it at CJ The Market or an E-Mart in person are paying half that.
Good to know before you buy
- It’s a Chuseok item, not a permanent SKU. Like most Korean holiday gift sets, this is tied to the 2026 Chuseok season — don’t expect it to still be on shelves once the holiday passes.
- The keychain is random, not a choice. If you specifically want Snorlax or Ditto and not the other, be ready to buy more than one complete set.
- International buyers are stuck with resale or import stores. Sites like Oppa Store and Gmarket Global are shipping the set overseas, but you’ll pay international shipping plus whatever markup the seller adds on top of the ₩59,700 retail price.
