Look at that poster again. It’s every main-series Pokémon game released in Korea, from the original Red and Green cartridges at the top down to Pokémon Legends: Z-A on Switch 2 at the bottom, stacked above an empty conductor’s podium with a Poké Ball on the music stand. That’s the whole idea behind Pokémon Korea’s 30th-anniversary 공연 (gongyeon), concert: thirty years of game music, played live by a full orchestra in Seoul.

Pokémon Korea teased it on September 20 with a short reel. The caption runs through the moment you met your first partner Pokémon, the excitement of heading to a new town and the battles you never forgot, then promises that “when the music plays, our adventure begins again.”

The full details dropped on October 7, and tickets go on sale tomorrow.

What the show is

The full title is Pokémon The Orchestra: 꿈과 모험, 그리고 만남의 기적 (Dreams, Adventure, and the Miracle of Encounters). Per Pokémon Korea’s announcement, it reworks music from the main Pokémon game series into orchestral 메들리 (medeulli), medleys, running from the upbeat adventure themes to the more emotional tracks. Game footage plays on screen during the show, and the organizers note some scenes are staged differently from the actual games. Inven Global also reports a special segment previewing the series’ upcoming adventures.

Pokémon Korea pitches it as a show for every generation of fan, from people who started on Game Boy to kids playing now. No setlist has been published, but going by the poster, expect a trip through all nine generations.

This is the third time Pokémon Korea has done this. It works with Flasic, a company that specializes in video game concerts, and its Flasic Game Symphony Orchestra:

  • 2023: From the Land of Myths (신화의 땅에서), National Theater of Korea’s Haeoreum Theater
  • 2024: A Treasure-like Journey (보물 같은 여정), Sejong Center Grand Theater, built around Scarlet and Violet. It was conducted by Flasic’s head, Jin Sol.

Pokémon Korea hasn’t named the conductor or orchestra for 2026 yet. The concert is the music piece of Pokémon Mega Festa 2026, the year-long 30th-anniversary celebration that already gave Seoul the Jamsil pop-up and Hanbok Pikachu.

How booking works

예매 (yemae), booking, opens Thursday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m. KST on Ticketlink, and the rules are strict:

  • Two tickets max per account.
  • Your ticket is also your store pass. You need it to get into the merch store at the venue, and you can only make one purchase per ticket.
  • Don’t lose it. Damaged or lost tickets won’t get you into the concert or the store.

Just four shows in a single hall for a 30th anniversary means this will probably be a 피켓팅 (piketing), “blood ticketing.” Make your Ticketlink account well before 8 p.m., log in early and have your payment method ready. Foreign cards and identity checks can be hit or miss on Korean ticketing platforms, so test the checkout before sale time if you’re booking from abroad.

Pokémon Korea hasn’t posted the running time or age rating yet. For reference, the 2024 show ran 130 minutes including a 20-minute intermission and was rated ages 8 and up. Check the Ticketlink listing once it goes live.

Getting to KBS Hall

The closest subway stop is National Assembly Station (국회의사당역) on Line 9. Take Exit 4, and the hall is a short walk west. Pokémon Korea specifically asks people to use public transportation because parking is tight. If you’re new to the subway, our Seoul transportation guide covers T-money cards and how the lines work.

Yeouido is an easy place to fill the rest of the day. Yeouido Park is right next to the hall, and The Hyundai Seoul mall is a short ride away if you want somewhere warm to wait for the evening show. It’ll be late November, so bring a real coat.
